Starting at 18 strong, the core group of MUSE musicians represents almost 100 recorded albums, reams of poetry, and decades at the forefront of environmental activism and awareness.

Their activities include working on the faculty of the Institute for Deep Ecology; crewing on the Clearwater and Sea Shepherd; creating benefit CDs for Canadian Arctic conservation and Gregorio Coastal Habitat Coalition; performing in the NPR Earth Day celebration; as well as supporting the Arctic Wildlife Refuge and Hudson River Sloop. The environmental awards received by this group are many, including an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Environmental Protection Agency, and Award of Excellence from the United Nations Environment Program.

In addition, lawyers, graphic artists, recording engineers, web designers, and people from all walks of life donate their skills to MUSE. Please contact us to share ideas on how you can add your unique talents and resources to the groundswell of MUSE activism.

MUSE was founded by Walkin' Jim Stoltz and Craig Wagner.
Currently Joyce Rouse, Libby Roderick, Craig and Jim serve on the Board of Directors. The musicians listed below have helped by donating their music, time, or talents. Please support them in their musical wanderings and go hear them perform when they come to your area.

"...This is probably the best various artists compilation of specifically ecologically-oriented music I've encountered......it is a real accomplishment when an album of music all about environmental themes can produce a sense of holism and hope. The aptly titled One Land, One Heart accomplishes just that, evoking the beauty of the American land, sadness at environmental destruction, but also true hope for the future, a celebration of the spirit that sings or lies latent within all of us. This music recognizes that ultimately it is not an us vs. them struggle, but a collective human journey toward wholeness that we need to undertake.... Both lyrically and musically, these selections are intelligent, genuine, rooted in real connections with the earth.
