Our Grant Process
MUSE is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, a coalition of environmentally oriented musicians and supporters. We raise money through recording sales, concerts and donations and give out these funds to grass-roots environmental organizations through a grant process. We accept grant proposals at any time, and evaluate them once we have suitable funds to support the proposals we approve.
We want to help fund efforts that are really making a difference in helping to protect our wild places, wildlife, endangered species, rivers, and the natural world. In addition, we seek to support environmental education and awareness. Grants can only be made to qualified tax-exempt organizations. At this time we are not giving grants for more than $3000.
If you wish to apply for a grant, please send us the following via email. We are not looking for a lengthy proposal, but one that is clear, well thought-out, and one with a strong probability of success. Specifics we require are:
-
The names, addresses, e-mail, and telephone numbers of the organization and of the contact persson.
-
A short synopsis of the project to be funded. Give us a clear statement of final objectives, how you will determine if those objectives are met and how this effort will make a difference.
-
A timetable for the project.
-
A project budget and how the MUSE grant will fit into this. Identify other sources of funding and whether those funds are in-hand, pending, or to be requested.
-
A short history of the organization with past environmental accomplishments (web links are fine).
-
A discussion of the qualifications of key staff working on the project (web links are fine).
-
Proof of 501(c)3 status or proof of fiscal sponsors from a 501(c)(3)
-
Method and timetable of follow-up report to let us know of project results.
Please send the above information via E-mail to us at muse@musemusic.org .
